Shalco 4-1000 Series
Shalco 4-101 Series cold box core/mold machines help you utilize cold box processes to the utmost by reducing machine motion and core box movement to a minimum.
The stationary blow chamber eliminates spillage and sand movement in the blow head. The core box is moved only in the vertical plane, so there is no sand shift in the core box prior to gassing, producing more consistently accurate cores or molds. A high capacity blow valve speeds core box filling, and the shuttle-type gassing head expedites introduction of the vaporized catalyst. High pressure hydraulic core box clamping assures tight seals during the blow and gas portions of the cycle.
Shalco 4-101 Series machines are available in four standard models, with core box size ranging from 20” x 20” x 8” (508 x 508 x 203 mm) for the Model B to 20” x 28” x 8” (508 x 711 x 203 mm) for models C, D & E maximum blowing core weight is 30 lbs. (14 kg) for the Model B, 55 lbs. (25 kg) for Models C, D & E. All machines have a maximum tooling weight of 2000 lbs. (907 kg). Core pickoff removal stroke is parallel to gassing plate for Models B & C, at right angle to gassing plate in Models D & E.
The ruggedly constructed 4-101 Series machine features rigid, all welded tubular steel frames, and are supplied fully equipped with all cylinders, valves and controls ready for installation and hook-up. Electrical controls are either relay-operated solenoid valves, or PC controls. All production sequences are timed automatically, with sand fill and gassing cycles precisely metered for consistent quality and control, cycle after cycle.
