Resin Heating Systems
We invested a great deal of time developing and simplifying these systems to operate in the reality of a foundry operation. They are simple, robust, and they are also safe. We have carefully selected the resin heating method to assure safe operation.
Pictured below is a unit that we developed for phenolic urethane. The system includes heated tanks for supply to multiple mixers from a single point. We utilized a recirculating delivery system so that the tanks and resin in the lines are always at a homogenized temperature. Using this method, all of the resin in the system is at your preset temperature.
The heaters are wrapped around the tanks so you are not constantly ruining heating elements and potentially exposing the resin to a direct heat source. The heating elements themselves are insulated and metal wrapped. This does two things. It forces the heat into the tank. It also protects the heater from the abusive environment of the foundry.
For our most basic unit, the heaters are 120 VAC and feature a simple thermostat. A thermometer located in the tank allows the user to see actual resin temperature and adjust the thermostat accordingly.
Systems are available for any foundry binder system and we can custom design to meet your exact requirements, tank size, and level of sophistication on resin temperature control. Anything from simple thermostats (pictured below) to digital PID temperature control are available.
We also supply bulk resin handling systems to draw material from a bulk tank or central source and pump to your heating system.
