What does Frac Sand look like?
We get tons of calls from folks that want to know if they have frac sand, so, for your consideration, we are publishing some of our photographs so you can see different grades and if what you have is frac grade. Bear in mind, photos are not completely conclusive as to whether or not a given is is frac quality, but it can be an indicator.
High Quality Ottowa White - Very round and very pure. 8K Crush Factor
Medium Quality "shore" or "river" sand. 5K Crush Factor
(we have included a couple of pictures of sands that we have tested that are reasonable quality)
Not So Good Sand - too angular to pass crush tests. 2K Crush Factor
