I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'
Well, there are a few of you out there that are busy, but not a lot. We have seen over the last few weeks a bit of an uptick in consumable orders and hopefully that sticks.
We are working on quite a few equipment projects for the folks getting ready for the next onslaught of business. We are seeing quite a bit of activity on molding lines, core rooms, and automatic grinding. What we have seen in the past is that the foundries that take the slow times to prepare for the next business cycle are well positioned and strong when the business returns.
Our news outlets like to instill fear. We have a presidential campaign that is starting to impact some of your decisions. The price of oil stinks. But…all of these things have happened before. An you are here, reading this newsletter. You survived the last business cycle and most of you will survive this one.
I would encourage all of you to take this time to evaluate your business, get your efficiency up, get rid of the dead weight, and get ready to get busy again. It may be a while but the more work you do now to get better, the better prepared and more profitable you will be when things ramp up again.
- A new Sinto molding line and handling is running is Fort Worth, TX.
- We are having great success and happy customers with our Hirado hydraulic wedges. I even had a customer shoot and send me a video of their biggest break yet - a 4x6 iron contact. Pretty impressive.
- We are working on some new aluminum melt furnace and delivery designs. We have had a couple of new vendors approach on this subject and are working through some interesting design concepts now.
- We are revitalizing out Robomolder designs and marketing. We are trying to get the costs down in order to increase the available customer base. We now have 3 Robomolder systems running and they are doing great.
